They find the bones of a woman who died giving birth to her twins 7,000 years ago!

Giving birth to a baby is one of the most beautiful and natural moments of life that responds to the desire to be parents, to have offspring or to the struggle of nature to make each species reproduce and continue progressing and populating the earth. It is something that has been done since time immemorial and yet it remains an act with some risk to the life of the baby and the mother.

It is estimated that one in ten births should be by caesarean section because it is estimated that it is that 10% of births are complicated. Today, thanks to this intervention, carried out when there are problems, maternal mortality is very low. However, long ago, when women gave birth alone, the risks were much greater.

Today I bring you a very old news, and very curious, precisely for old, but sad despite everything. In Siberia, in what appears to be an ancient Neolithic cemetery, they have found the oldest case of death during childbirth when finding the bones of a woman giving birth to her twins.

When finding the woman's bones and seeing a baby next door, archaeologists considered it as the birth of a single baby that had not gone well. However, as they searched for more remains, they found that some bones were duplicated. It was then that they concluded that they were two twin brothers and the scene was quite clear when they observed that the second baby was still inside the mother, but with one foot out.

That is, the first one could leave, but the second came from buttocks and only got part of one of his legs. Something went wrong in the process and the mother lost her life at that moment. The baby that was already born died too. This makes researchers think that it was a totally unassisted birth in which the woman gave birth alone (did not the women give birth alone at the time?).

101 bodies have been found in the cemetery and it is in the city of Irkutsk, north of Lake Baikal, partially covered by the city, which has been growing above that cemetery.

According to archaeologists in a study they have published about it, the bones date from the Neolithic they are about 7,000 or 8,000 years ago, from a community of hunter-gatherers.

What do you think? It seems like something really far away, because it is (that woman and her two babies are thousands of years ago) and yet we must not forget that there are cultures where women still give birth alone: to show this video that we shared a while ago to show what a natural birth is like when it gives birth in the jungle.
