News like these make us think of inexplicable mistakes and pity the plight of these parents. A pregnant woman with twins has been the victim of an alleged medical error by having a selective abortion of the healthy fetus instead of the one who suffered a disease that would prevent its survival.
The woman, whose name is Gemma, is 36 years old and is a child educator, wants to report this fact so that it does not happen again. That is why he has sued the case through the association The Patient Advocate, in a claim in which his lawyer asks for 214,000 euros as compensation.
Gemma says that, after seven attempts at pregnancy by in vitro fertilization, her husband and she were "very excited" with this, until the doctor detected that one of the fetuses had a serious heart disease that made their survival unfeasible.
