It will no longer be frowned upon to breastfeed on Facebook: Zuckerberg is committed to supporting breastfeeding

Good news for breastfeeding that we struggle so much to normalize: it will no longer be frowned upon to see images of mothers breastfeeding on the social network. Mark Zuckerberg, whom we see with Christine Rushing, founder of Milky Mommas (breastfeeding support platform) while breastfeeding her baby, is committed to supporting breastfeeding.

It happened a couple of days ago at the Facebook Communities Summit 2017, the summit of Facebook communities, and seems to seal the reconciliation in a relationship in which there were turbulence in the past. With the nursing mothers there was a pending account and it seems that from now on things will change since The social network understands the importance of breastfeeding, and not only does it no longer censure but also commits itself to supporting it..

A turbulent relationship

The relationship of tits with Facebook has not been easy. In recent years, many photos of mothers breastfeeding their babies were denounced and deleted by Facebook for offensive content, while they looked naked everywhere. This double standard obviously infuriated the mothers. It is inconsistent that images of erotic content are allowed and not mothers breastfeeding because they are considered naked.

The campaign was launched nine years ago "Eh, Facebook, breastfeeding is not obscene" which had great repercussion throughout the world, before which two years or so ago, Facebook rejected and decided that the images of breastfeeding mothers would no longer be considered obscene, regardless of whether the nipple is seen or not.

This photo seems to show that the relationship between Facebook and breastfeeding ends in happy ending. Zuckerberg is committed to supporting it as the most natural and normal way to feed a baby.

To celebrate this breakthrough, Christine Rushing, founder of Milky Mommas, invited the mothers to share a brelfie (breastfeeding selfie) under the hashtag #FBBrelfie without fear of being eliminated or denounced.
