The adorable reaction of a premature baby upon receiving a kiss from his father

When your baby is born premature and nothing is as expected you feel embarrassed. You see it so fragile and small that although a deep feeling of love for that little one invades you, fear and worry are also present.

Placing the baby skin with skin as this dad does with his baby is most recommended for babies born before term. It helps them regulate respiratory rate, heart rate and temperature, as well as relieve stress and anxiety. It is where they can be more comfortable, and so we see it judging by the reaction that the baby has when receiving a kiss from his father.

The smile in babies

As we said at the time when little Freya gave her mother a huge smile five days after birth, newborns do not smile yet in reaction to a kiss or a touch of their parents. What we see in the video is what is known as angelic smile.

It is not really a smile in response to a stimulus, but an innate reflection of the baby. It is a spontaneous lip movement and reflex that the baby makes when he feels happy and relaxed. It can happen to smile also in the absence of stimulation or even while sleeping.

The social smile, his first "real" smile appears from the first month of life, between the fourth and sixth week, in response to a stimulus from the father or mother.
