When dad stays home and realizes everything Mom does: 'The Incredibles 2'

The next August 3 opens in Spain 'The Incredibles 2', the most famous family of Pixar superheroes that has fallen in love with the little ones. In its premiere in the United States, it broke the box office, achieving a new record for animated films that had so far 'Looking for Dory' (2016).

In the film there is a clear nod to an increasingly frequent phenomenon in families: that mom goes out to work and dad stays in each taking care of the children, and therefore that Dad realizes everything Mom does when it seems that "it does nothing". Behind the main argument of the superhero adventures, the film recognizes the work of mothers and the heroism of being fathers together, as a team.

Superheroes inside and outside the home

In the trailer we can already intuit this intention about the importance of making a team for the family to function, and demonstrate that after all dad and mom are superheroes inside and outside the home. There is a very good phrase of Mr. Incredible that sums it up perfectly:

"I have to do it well (be a father), so she can do it well (her job), so we can do it right."

Mom works outside, Dad stays at home

This time Mr. Incredible is up to stay at home taking care of children while mom Elastigirl He goes out to save the world on the wheels of his super fast motorcycle. It seems easy for him, in fact easier than the work that mom has to do, but he quickly realizes that It's not as simple as I imagined.

Caring for a baby, a child and a preteen is a challenge that can leave even the strongest of the superheroes exhausted and overwhelmed, judging by the gloom and dark circles that remain after a few days of 'dad at home'.

Each child, their needs

Another detail that can be seen in the film is how much do our children need us in their different ages. Of babies, of course, but also when they grow up and when they become preteens. How to be attentive to their needs and the moments that each of them live, taking care of them, leaving their space, but at the same time being close. When they grow up they are more independent, they are worth themselves, but still need us equally.

Everyday issues that can be seen in any normal family is what makes the family of superheroes so real. The inexhaustible energy of a baby, the little one with his impossible mathematics and his crushed ones, and dealing with the mood swings of a preteen daughter in love. Like life itself.

After watching the preview, I loved that Pixar made this wink to recognize the work of mothers who stay at home, and at the same time to leave aside stereotypes about masculinity and strength and make it seem very good that it is dad who stays at home. But above all, the best message is to show that the work of one is as important as that of the other, because otherwise they could not get it.

Will you go see her? Surely kids love it! You will tell us what you think about the movie.
