Are mobile phones good for children?

There is great debate on the topic of mobile telephony and children, they all give their opinion, reason from their point of view and defend their criteria by layer and sword, we are all free in terms of our thoughts, but none are in the head or in the life of another.

The most surprising thing is that those who are against children having a mobile phone, it seems that they are only worried about not encouraging consumerism and not giving such technology to children.

But really Is it so good or so bad for a child to have a mobile phone? We personally think that it cannot be generalized, of course there will be children who have it on a whim, but there will be others who have it out of necessity. We do not know the life of all families and how an apparatus, which adults can no longer do without despite its short history, can help.

Another issue is to provide the child with a device that more than a phone looks like a leisure center, with mp3, digital camera, etc., there we think the common sense of the parents enters. In Babies and more we have shown you the different mobile phones adapted for children, which have restricted functions so that parents have total security of the good use of the device, and in this regard, we read a story in 20minutos.es in which they mention a Research and Analysis study, which shows the same data as the National Institute of Statistics and the study "Childhood and Adolescence in the Information Society" of the Red.es Observatory, one in two children aged 8 to 13 has a mobile phone.

A professor in the department of evolutionary psychology at the University of Barcelona, Cristina Ramírez, believes that instead of “hyper-giving” and transmitting the culture of consumerism, “children need more the company of their parents and less communicate with them through a mobile phone". Completely agree, but we consider inappropriate again these words that group the whole group, not all people work the hours they want, but those that impose on them, I wish it were possible to tell the boss “I leave work because I have to be with me son, I have to pick him up from school, give him a snack, do his homework with him, play for a while together, bathe him, prepare dinner, have family dinner, keep a talk about how the day went and then I have to read him a Tale to wish you sweet dreams. Tomorrow I will return to work, but at the same time that today I will go again, but please, do not take it off my payroll. ”

We are fortunate not to find ourselves in such a situation, our youngest son has a mobile phone because he was given it away and since he doesn't need it, he is turned off in a drawer. But many parents have to work away from home until late in the afternoon and we cannot judge that they feel calmer and safer if they are not with their little one and provision him with a mobile phone.
