Rights of mothers when giving birth and feeding their babies

We recall, among others, the news of a research paper that concluded with the recommendation that breastfeeding the baby at half an hour of birth is most convenient for the baby and for the mother, in principle it helps to extend the period of Breastfeeding, you get faster milk rise and greater confidence in the ability to breastfeed the baby.

In addition to promoting breastfeeding, it promotes affective bonding and decreases post-liver bleeding among many other benefits. It seems unbelievable that this wise action has not yet been extended in hospital centers, with the medical staff being the most appropriate to promote this method and breastfeeding.

We read in the digital newspaper 20 Minutes some letters from the readers demanding the rights as mothers when giving birth and feeding their babies in hospitals. We highlight the experience that Angela went through, who after giving birth at a clinic in Madrid through “(inne) caesarean section”, could not see her baby or welcome her to the world, she was taken to the nest where she was given bottles of Buttermilk and milk powder without consulting with mom. It seems that this action was carried out because the child weighed 30 grams less at birth than stipulated in the clinic protocol.

From Babies and more we also invite you to tell us your experience, hopefully all we read were encouraging, but unfortunately there are still many hospitals and specialized personnel who do not conceive the birth of a baby as it deserves (to these, we invite you to change profession).
