In the Week of Passenger Child Safety experts review the child seats

We often comment: it is necessary for children to travel by car subject to retention systems properly, a measure that ensures the safety of the little ones and that we should never forget, both on long trips and on short ones.

This week the Department of Transportation of the National Highway Safety Administration (NHTSA) celebrates Passenger Child Safety Week to remind parents and caregivers that they have to check the car seat to make sure it is installed correctly.

This is important because according to Department data most of the safety seats are not used correctly, which increases a child's risk of injury or death in a car accident.

Therefore, next Saturday, September 22, the United States will be held on National Saturday Review of Child Safety Seats. This day, certified passenger safety technicians will inspect safety seats for free throughout the country, and offer practical instructions to make sure parents know how to properly select and install safety seats in their vehicles.

It has also made available to parents, and also in Spanish, a website with all the necessary information on child restraint systems, www.Safecar.gov/protegido. Videos, campaign posters, contact details to express our doubts or free review points for those living in the country also appear on this page.

We are in the middle of the Passenger Child Safety Week, until September 22, a good time not to forget the importance of using child restraint systems correctly. It is worth spending a minute to check the chair and that the child is well subject, and sure that if that day of free reviews were extended to other countries many people would sign up.
