With the LOMCE the music subject is almost forgotten

We know that music education improves children's brain capacity. We know that music is even used as therapy to help children with disabilities improve. We know it and the countries that care about the education of their children know it, in which most children grow up knowing how to play one or more instruments.

Those who do not know, or do not want to find out, are the people we let govern us, who do nothing but get their hands on the education projects of our children committing atrocities as great as with the LOMCE the music subject is almost forgotten.

And it is that the subjects will be redistributed so that there will be core subjects that will be taught in all elementary courses, which are Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Spanish Language and Literature, Mathematics and First Foreign Language, there will be specific subjects that will also be they will teach in all the primary courses, which are Physical Education and Religion, or Social and Civic Values, at the choice of parents, legal guardians and there will be at least one more subject that each autonomous community or even each teaching center must choose, from among the following: Arts Education (music and / or plastic), Second Foreign Language, Religion, only if the parents, mothers or legal guardians have not chosen it in the election indicated in the specific subjects and Social and Civic Values, again, only if it has not been chosen before.

In other words, the subject of Music is the choice of the autonomous communities and centers and in that way it can be taught as well as not, as it is relegated to optional.

Is music optional?

The good thing about music is that it is hardly explainable. We all know that music is another language, a sum of notes and tones that create harmony, a sum of instruments that come together to create a compendium of sounds that together can create something much bigger.

The music can thrillIt can make us cry, it can help us relax, excite us, accelerate us. There are people who use it for running, as a stimulant. There are people who use it to concentrate, when they want to do something that requires their attention. Some people use it to sleep. There are ... and so it could be hours.

And then there is playing an instrument. I don't know if you play any instrument, I do. I play the guitar and the drums. I even had a music group in my young days. Now I do not do much, but picking up the guitar and singing some songs has a revitalizing effect that I can only compare with going for a run or going to the mountain one day ... after all, The mind is like new, you feel alive again and free.

But no, the government does not want our children to know anything about it that tames the beasts, nothing like that they are instruments, nothing like that called culture. RegrettableI really don't know whether to laugh or cry.
