Do you want your child to eat more vegetables? Let it help in the kitchen

Five fruits and vegetables a day is recommended, but how difficult it seems sometimes ... One of the foods that cost most children to eat are vegetables and vegetables. Well, according to one study, children who help their parents in the kitchen eat more vegetables.

A fun way to add vegetables to the kids' diet to build a healthy menu and accept new flavors and establish good eating habits.

The study was carried out by scientists from the Nestlé Research Center in Lausanne, which compared in several Swiss families the food that children chose when they helped prepare their own menu and what they consumed when they did not.

The little ones who help in the kitchen ingest a significantly larger amount of vegetables, specifically up to 75% more of these foods.

Parents were asked to prepare a meal consisting of various foods, such as breaded chicken, salad, cauliflower and pasta. While half of the children helped with the preparation, the other half simply played while the parents cooked, without participating in the elaboration.

Another interesting fact that the study provides is that the children who had collaborated in the kitchen tasks felt better, more proud, more independent and with more positive emotions. Which is quite logical, since they feel "older" and satisfied to have done that work with parents. By the way, we also value this time shared with children very positively.

A game (always safe, of course), a learning. And now that little chefs are so fashionable, why not try at home?

In short, you know: if you want your children to eat more vegetables, let them help you in the kitchen. Our little "master-chefs" will have a great time and will also be healthier.
