This marathon that will end on January 6, 2007, within the “Rewrite the Future” campaign, has as its first objective that the next day of kings, 5,000 children receive the best gift, a scholarship that allows them to go and learn at school for a year.
The campaign has a much more hopeful purpose, providing education to more than 43 million children in countries such as Sudan, Uganda, Cambodia, Angola, etc., that because of armed conflicts, do not receive education.
One year of schooling can mean an average increase of 10% of wages in developing countries, but education can also favor tolerance and conflict resolution by promoting peace and respect for human rights.
